Sarge A.I. answers the telephone for veteran service organizations, and answers questions on this website for the members of a post that has been given its code. This page says what happens to what you say and what you type.
A written record of the call is kept: when it happened, the number it came from, what was asked, how it was handled, and a transcript of what was said. That record belongs to the post and to All Engines Studio, which operates the system on the post's behalf.
The telephone vendor that carries the call keeps its own copy for fourteen days and then discards it.
Your question, what it was classified as, how it was answered, and the time. If you leave a message, the name, the number and the message you typed go to the people at your post who take messages.
Signing in with your post's code does not tell us who you are. The code belongs to the post, not to a person, and nothing here asks for your name unless you choose to leave a message.
Pressing Speak records your voice in your browser and sends that recording to Soniox, the transcription service that also listens on the post's telephone line, which turns it into words. The recording is deleted from that service as soon as it has been transcribed. Nothing is recorded or sent until you press the button, and you can type instead at any time.
This page does not use your browser's own built-in speech recognition. In Chrome that feature sends what you say to Google, and that was not a decision anybody made on your behalf.
If what you say suggests you may be thinking about harming yourself, Sarge follows a protocol reviewed by a suicide-prevention program liaison, and a notice goes to the people at your post who are responsible for that — because a person hearing the right words and nobody being told is the failure this system exists to prevent. That notice says a crisis was raised, when, and on which line. It is not a transcript of what you said.
Nothing recorded here is sold, rented, or used to advertise to you. Member rosters, names and telephone numbers held for a post are never shown on this website, and Sarge does not read a private individual's telephone number out on a call.
