Sarge answers a post's line when nobody is there to. She knows what that post has told her — when they meet, what dues are, who to ask for, where to take a worn flag — and when she does not know something, she takes a name and a number and puts it in front of a person.

She is not a chatbot bolted to a website. She is the same system either way: the telephone and this page are two doors into one room.
